<p>I don’t think people are scared of finance, which is why it’s not impacted and a lot of people are accepted. Most people applying should get in. The year I got in (applied for F12) they posted their admission statistics and finance has an ~80% acceptance rate. 496 admitted, 125 denied. I do hear some interesting stuff from finance majors in my history class talking about Monte Carlo simulations before class starts.</p>
<p>Most of the reputation of the school is derived from how hard engineering and the college of science classes are here. </p>
<p>Oddly enough, when I went for orientation in Summer 2012, there were about 6 people total as well that came to that particular orientation in my major.</p>
