<p>It’s good to see a ranking that somehow accounts for the structural differences between research and non research universities and ranks them fairly as opposed to US News which gives no way to compare, say a UC and a CSU. It’s also good to see that by this measure, many Cal States are actually competitive or ranked higher than research and better funded universities of neighboring states such as the following:</p>

UNM
NMSU
U of Utah
U of Idaho</p>
<p>Somewhat irrelevant, but Cal Poly Pomona, in the CCAA division 2, beat out most public universities in he PAC 12!!! How’s that for an upset!</p>
