Cali residents admitted to Stanford?

[Stanford University: Common Data Set 2010-2011](http://ucomm.stanford.edu/cds/2010.html)

The common data set says that they do not consider state residency as part of their application. Additionally, the same link states that 59% of freshmen are out-of-state, meaning that 41% are in-state. For all undergraduates, that number of out-of-state is 55%.

Still, I cannot make a conclusion without knowing how many students applied in state. This link: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/518522-does-stanford-like-state-people.html</a>, says that it is around 70%. This could indicate a preference for out-of-state students, but not necessarily. It might be possible that other states have better education programs than California, which would make Cali students less favorable in the admissions process, in theory.

There is not enough data to make a conclusion.
