That site is asking for people to share their stories. You and your daughter certainly can read and add to that site. If you have been following already, forgive me for being repetitive.

Thanks bookworm! I have not been following that site–thanks for the heads up.

Another evacuation. This fire seems to have no end.

Another, the Sepulveda Fire, came very close to UCLA last night. It was on the same side of the 405 as UCLA. Fortunately, fire fighters stopped its progress at 40 acres. We just flew our D22 back to UCLA on Monday—really hope the weather changes soon and they get some relief.

I hadn’t heard about that fire. Glad they got it out quick. Selfish but my grandson has two appointments at UCLA next week, one that took months to get.

It will be OK–Westwood doesn’t have a ton of tree coverage or vegetation so the fires won’t have much to grab onto. It’s scary but I think the area is OK and should stay OK…

Almost had to evacuate today. H was working from home so he got everything packed to go before I got home.

I saw that fire notification! Hope you are well (also hope the nearby synagogue, one of two we belong to, is safe).

Thank you @Marilyn. The synagogue was in the evacuation zone, but fortunately they have lifted all evacuation orders. We have lived here for 36 years and have never had a fire so close. I have been worried that a fire could happen in this canyon with all of the dried brush.

Just a quick note that there has been a lot of rain in Southern California starting overnight and continuing off and on today. The warnings have gone from fire to flood (not in my immediate area).

Makes me think of one of my husband’s sayings (he has a lot of them, lol):

“If it’s not ants, it’s roaches.”

Are you getting flood warnings? I’m not in the thick of it, but everything I have heard was for people to stay in their houses and off the streets.

Nothing around my part of San Diego, fortunately. My immediate neighborhood doesn’t flood - the village area by the ocean has badly flooded in the past due to very high king tides.

Love that one!

Yup. Just did my walk through the house & garage to ensure no leaks.

Knock wood, there are none.
