Hehehe… over here, the 'rents say “The sooner you’re out of here, the better”. You can conclude that the college bill’s mostly on me, but I’m happy. If I somehow got admitted to a good college and got a good scholarship, I could leave, and it wouldn’t be a problem for anybody!

And your college admissions is being questioned? With a score that high, do that on the actual thing and translate to the SAT, we have a good candidate.
Why do your parents track you like polar bears and salmon, OliveTree?

You’re lucky. My parents say, wherever I am they’ll be just around the corner. Oh boy!

I’m an only child and we don’t really know anybody because most of our family is in Cuba so I’m the only person they have.

Thus they are overprotective and do not want you to have your freedom? Unless this only applies to Mexico, does not turning 15 symbolize adulthood for a female in those cultures?

Ah… the only child issue… That’s the case with my cousin and my aunt. He’s her only child and she can’t have anymore, so she hunts them down like a hawk. Homeschooled, but it’s not like he’s very open-minded. I’ve talked with him quite a bit and I think he needs to learn better socialization skills. He tends to dwell on rather moronic topics, like the time when he urinated in a water gun, sprayed it at his friends, and told them it was lemonade. For a thirteen year old, he acts like he’s nine.

Kman, I’m just questioning my chances mainly because of ECs. Academics isn’t really a concern. I just want to GET BUSY! Maybe next year, hopefully.

I does and I am 15, but they are very overprotective and say that because I am their only child, they can’t let me go.

But once you do go, they can save their money! Are they extremely, extremely strict? (To the point that you can’t go outside?)

Even if they do save money they say I have to support them when I get a job. So, I am constantly under pressure to support my whole family.

Then convince them that if they let you go to a nice, presigious college, you’ll get a degree, be accomplished, and you can easily support them all. I know that sounds like a trite suggestion, but I recommend that you keep up the good work and show them that you are independent and maybe they’ll back off. Surely they don’t want to act like tag-a-long puppies for the rest of their years.

I don’t think they have any problem acting like that. However, they are pretty supportive and help me as much as they can. I’m sure they will let me have more freedom as I get older (hopefully). Thanks for the advice, Righteous_Vigilante!

Your welcome. I like making people feel happy!
