<p>Earlier they fiddled a bit with the definition of how much money you “need,” which caused disgruntlement among the students, so I’m glad to see that they did this. With as few students and as big an endowment as Caltech has, they can afford to be comparatively generous with financial aid, but I guess they needed the competition from other schools eliminating loans before they jumped on the bandwagon.</p>
