Camera Recommendations

I always use the DPReview website before making any camera purchase and I’ve never regretted their honest and factual advice.

[Digital Cameras: Digital Photography Review, News, Reviews, Forums, FAQ](http://www.dpreview.com/)

Look under “Camera/Lens Database” and you’ll find categories by size, price, etc. You can also select and compare several cameras side-by-side using the website’s standard list of features. After I decide which camera I want, I then search online for the lowest price.

Personally, I love a camera that records video as well as still photos. Also, I’ve found that IS (image stabilization), face recognition, a long flash distance, a large viewing screen, a wide angle lens, and a long zoom are required features for me.

Many believe that the higher the megapixel count (MP), the higher the quality of photo but I’ve learned that MP is totally marketing hype unless you plan to do major cropping to a photo. Plus, these extreme MP photos will take up a lot of storage space on your PC and storage card.

Thanks so much for all of your wonderful recommendations.
