Can high school make someone take the SAT again....

I went all the way to our superintendent and couldn’t get S19 out of the SAT at school even though he had an SAT test he was using for college admissions. The state of Illinois requires it in school in order to get your diploma and for GCs to send final transcripts to colleges (which colleges require for the kids to enroll.)

It’s because the state pays the College Board to supply this SAT for the state to track all students’ progress over the four years of high school. Other states have other tests they use that kids have to take. The PSAT/SAT selection of tests are used by Illnois and required.

It sucked but, really, in the end it was no big deal to take it. You don’t have to send it to colleges. The first year that Illinois required the SAT, the score was put on kids’ transcripts and I believe it was parents in @Mwfan1921 's district who went bonkers and went to Springfield to have that changed. Of course many kids don’t want their scores for that test on their transcript for colleges to see. Many kids send an ACT to colleges, not the SAT. And many kids, like our S19 and the OP’s D, already took an SAT and are happy with their score. So now the score is not reported on transcripts. I guess the only time schools would see it is if you apply to colleges that require all scores. There aren’t many of those.
