<p>I think you have a good shot, however Carleton has been harder and harder to get into lately. Sometimes the decisions seem hard to understand. As an alum, I believe that is probably because the school really wants “fit”. They probably put lots of weight on the essays. Perhaps I’d read a book about writing good college essays, and maybe try to understand more about Carleton. Maybe read or skim a book about Carleton or spends loads of time surfing the Carleton web site.</p>
<p>For example, read the thread below. The guy who started the thread seems like a perfectly good guy, but loads of people questioned his “fit” and they did so for good reasons.</p>

<p>If anything else, your EC’s seem weak. Why’d you quit Jazz band? Look for some good summer opportunities perhaps. Perhaps do a play or some other activities next year in High School if you can.</p>
