<p>That is good of you to share the stats from the website you referenced. The range actually adheres somewhat to the college board website. The problem is that may be an outdated composite for all the schools within NYU. for instance, the NYU local newspaper had mentioned that the acceptance rate for NYU CAS was 26% without LSP admits and 30-32% with LSP acceptances calculated into the percentage of students admitted for the freshmen class of 2011. That is below the 38% referenced in your link. Also, the admission rate might be closer to 20% or even less for Stern and definitely lower than 20% for Tisch RD. So we are discussing the problem of not having the admissions rates and statistics laid out for the various schools, e.g., Stern, Gallatin, Tisch, etc. in a clear manner by NYU. The numbers and rates I have quoted are from the NYU newspaper and numbers provided by posters here ( many of whom were also guessing based on what they have heard or seen as students in their respective schools within NYU).</p>
