can i get into pitt?

You should consider Pitt a “reach” school and apply to other schools as back-ups.

Your GPA puts you in the bottom 20% of students currently attending. SAT Math, bottom 30% or so. SAT reading, bottom 15% or so. You CAN get in, and you SHOULD apply. But have backups ready just in case. (The College Board website has the stats if you’d like to see them.)

Unfortunately, the Pitt application for admission does not have much room to point out your own special attributes, so the admissions decision is going to be based primarily on your grades and test scores. [EDIT: I forgot there’s an essay, too.] However, you can help your cause by making a call to the admissions office after you submit your application, to express your interest. And I agree with MD_Mom’s suggestion to re-take the SAT.
