<p>Unless things have changed since my kids applied to college, you cannot make changes to the Common Application once you’ve submitted it to a college. You can create an ALTERNATE VERSION, then make changes, and submit the alternate version to other colleges – but you cannot submit the alternate version to a school that you’ve already applied to. </p>
<p>What you can and should do is write a strong letter of interest that provides Admissions with updates to your application. Sometimes students will submit an additional essay with their update, but as Admissions already has your original essay, they can always refer back to it – it’s not like they can ignore it, or the impression it first made. So, I don’t think submitting a revised essay with the same topic will help your cause.
