3girls I agree with you. The only thing that really held me back ( besides the risk of permanent nerve damage) was the fact that I was not comfortable with her returning to school so fast.
Mine were impacted, and I spent a few days in a hospital. My son’s were done outpatient, and he had friends over that evening to play poker. Six days later, we flew across country to enroll him in college. He had no side effects, unlike me.
I think medicine and dentistry has improved over the years.
I wouldn’t have done it either @twogirls. I guess I’m just too much of a worrier to expect that everything is going to go perfectly and without complications.
Count me in as the third chicken. I had recurring infections when I had my wisdom teeth pulled (but I was over 40); I had to go back three times for ever stronger antibiotics. Six days just isn’t long enough for me.
Still have mine without problems for 30+ years… but D1 did have problems and had hers out on Tuesday.
I thought this was a boondoggle, mine were fine, and I kept them in till about age 45, when they became decayed. Given the varying nature of health and dental insurance in this country, my kids had theirs taken out while on my insurance. None have dental insurance at this point, so am glad they had it done.
