Can You Hear Me Now? Share Your Cellphone 411...

@mabel…when you say “the line I am still paying for,” are you saying you are paying for the device and the line for that device ONLY?

I’m not really thinking so, though that is how I read it, as you go on to speak of other phones which sound all paid up. The lines are still all under contract, though, right?

Just logged into My Verizon to check how much data the kids have been using in light of Pokémon Go when I noticed that my 17% employer discount had dropped down to a 15% discount. Apparently I also quit my job and started working for “USPS 3-5 DAY GROUND DELIVERY”.

@Waiting2exhale…sorry very poorly worded. I meant phone I am still paying for. All 4 lines are still on my More Everything Plan that shares 10GB of data.

@Iglooo ATT reduces the bill by $15 once you are off contract…? Really?

We’ve been off contract for well over a year…all phones fully paid for…and my bill hasn’t dropped a dime.

Verizon used to reduce the per line amount after the two-year contract was up…BUT, you had to ask for the reduction.

You can now play Pokemon Go on T-mobile phones without using up your data allotment. Thank goodness-I think D18 was burning through hers in one day!

To my surprise att reduced the bill by $20 when the contract expired. I didn’t ask for it. I may stay with att after all.

Sort of related to this thread…friends just got internet, landline, and 100 cable channels from Frontier for $69.99 a month…price guaranteed for three years. The 100 channels don’t include any premium channels…but hey…that’s a great deal.

We have Frontier for landline and Internet (I was mistaken upstream when I said it was part of our cell bill). But we can’t get TV here. Our cost is $52.18 a month…for Internet and wall phone.

I feel cheated.

I am going to look into that deal, @thumper1. It is time for some changes around here.

So, went with the Total Wireless plan for D’17, after much agonizing and research. When she made her first call to the home line, all went well. When she made her first text to her Dad, all went well.

When Dad texted her, his number did not show up, but his email address. Somehow the two of them worked that out.

I told him that when he texts me I don’t have any problem seeing that the text is coming from his cell phone, but then I don’t really have smart phone technology, as when he is texting me he’s dealing with 2008 technology.

His retort: “Well when you’re texting me you’re dealing with (year of his birth) '196_ ’ technology!”
