Canadian Universities and Student Visas

Easy peasy.

She applied and I think it was 12 weeks before she got her official provisional acceptance. We flew into Vancouver and had to wait (with about 100 other students in the large immigration room) for about 25 minutes. When we walked in, D25 just plopped her passport into a basket with the provisional acceptance and was not given a ticket or any other documentation, which–after about 20 minutes of waiting–I was like, oh, shouldn’t we have gotten like a ticket or some sort of confirmation? But she was called like 5 minutes later and given her student visa and passport back. It was an otherwise well-oiled machine.

The only thing is that because she was under 18, her passport expires in 2026, so the visa also expires again. So she’ll get to do this again next year, yay!
