AFPJ- If I’m reading these posts correctly, you are a Junior and will be attending Summer Seminar. There you hope to pass the CFA. If this is correct then it is not imperative that you pass the CFA so early in the summer. Get your elbow looked at and healed. If you want to make sure this doesn’t turn into a DODMERB issue, then find experts that can give you advice. You can heal your elbow and still try to find ways to increase your strength for pull ups. You don’t want to be in that amount of pain so early on. This might sound silly, but do you know any big guys that can help support your weight while you are doing pullups? Then you can train at a slower pace while you tend to your elbow.

Go to all the gyms in your neighborhood and talk to the manager/owner. Tell them what your goal is and maybe they will get you in for free or at a really reduced rate. When my teenage son needed money to attend a Junior War College he sold lemonade on the corner! You’d be surprised at the money these adults contributed towards his cause. He also went to the Republican Womens Club and the Lions Club and received donations. Ask around, you’ll be amazed at the generaosity your community will show when they see a kid trying so hard to reach his goals. That combined with some add neighborhood jobs and you might be able to join a gym with the equipment you need.
