If you’re content with Pitt or Penn State, and your parents can afford to send you there without large amounts of debt, then that’s a good wise decision to make. Otherwise you’d be setting yourself up for failure. Also, there’s no shame in spending a year or so at community college to keep the debt down, especially if you’re coming from Northwestern, where you already have debt.
