Ok, I that is reassuring. Thanks!
Someone on Reddit mentioned that 125 international applicants from China got accepted on Friday. I feel like that is a pretty large number from just one country (as there are international kids from many other countries). If that is representative of how international students are fairing, then I wonder how kids domestically will do.
The original email and IG post before they started absolutely implied a batch posting process.
Key words “ will begin releasing Friday, March 15.”
I am sure plenty of people will take issue with this. I think because it’s such a stressful situation that a good number of people are forgetting they never said it was all coming on 3/15.
That shows the confidence level they had on the deployment. It is very surprising how anything passed testing and how they don’t seem ready for quick issue resolution.
Oh, this whole decision release on 3/15 from CMU has been a disappointment and a frustration process. Our kids have worked hard 4 yrs and going through stressful the last few months with college apps. Admission offices everywhere expected the kids to pull it together 100 percent or it will negatively affect their future. They paid their fees and were told mistake on college app is unforgivable. I am expecting the same perfection and professionalism from organizations and their admission team when it’s time to response. Is that fair?
Who told you not to mistake on common app? I emailed them and they corrected multiple thngs for me.
https://www.cmu.edu/oie/about/docs/2022-admit-stats.pdf shows 189 international freshmen from China in 2022.
If the statement is true, it adds to the theory that CMU accidentally or intentionally released mostly acceptances last Friday.
It’s possible the load failed early during the rejection load, hence we saw few rejections as well.
Who told you that? Not only were we never told this, in fairness and in fact we submitted multiple things late to multiple schools, and in all cases the items were accepted for consideration. And yes some of those schools have resulted in Acceptances.
The most reasonable explanation for mostly accepts, very small number of rejects, and no waitlists on Friday.
If this is true, it is even worse as CMU left those in waiting dangling with hope still lingering. Really sad.
Not necessarily. It might be that the load failed for the first batch upload. They always said it would be a rolling release.
If you were part of the first batch, then most likely results will be bad. But you will never know that.
I don’t think there were enough acceptances to assume all acceptances were released last Friday.
I just called CMU again today, and they said there are a variety of results still pending, not just rejections. There will be only one final release, which is on Friday this week. Let’s hope they can achieve that and put the matter to rest.
This is most unfortunate that you thought this. My kid made mistakes on common app and emailed each school to correct the application. They are waiting for 2 more decisions, 1 waitlist, and the rest are acceptances. The schools most certainly do allow for corrections.
Fingers crossed.
Did anyone get results today?
nope
There will be only one final release, which is on Friday this week.
We got our update last Friday and email this Tuesday. I suspect that very few of the acceptances went out last week since the email has a link to a congratulatory YouTube video and as of today that video only has has 568 views. Good luck all for this Friday
Now that is some work of investigation
