Once you get deferred and put into the RD pool you’re no longer an ED applicant. You have the same chance of being accepted/denied/waitlisted as any other RD applicant.

lol I guess they didn’t get my son’s email to withdraw because he got notified he’s wait listed. I will say this, the email is written very nicely saying they feel he can succeed at CMU.
Yes they are free to do that…that doesn’t change the fact that they had the application from november and till June end they will not communicate a decision.

If I want to accept the Waitlist do I have to add something in the text box, if I do not put any extra information does that minimize my chances of getting off the waitlist?
I’m so confused. From what I’ve heard, the priority waitlist is binding. But the waitlist form only has 2 options: either put yourself on the priority waitlist or do not get on any waitlist. And the waitlist form explains that getting waitlisted is nonbinding. Whaaaaat?
