<p>I will be majoring in mathematics-economics at Wesleyan because they have a fantastic Econ department and the school is amazing. I turned Tepper and H&SS both down because I knew they weren’t any better than Wesleyan’s academics and CMU’s connections and career services couldn’t even touch Wesleyan’s. I was sure that upon graduation, Welseyan would give me so many more opportunities (except maybe not if I majored in computer science) and add that to the fact that when I visited CMU I absolutely hated it because there was NO social life and so many people seemed unhappy going there, and constantly discussed where they would have rather gone instead, I knew Wesleyan was the best fit for me. Don’t think Wesleyan is better because it’s cheaper, rejoice because you get to go to a much better school that is crazy awesome for less money.
In short, Wes is better than CMU in all these categories and carries more prestige for most of everything. I’m surprised so many more people had to make the same decision as I did, seeing how these are the most different schools. Good luck in choosing, but if you choose Wes, you chose right.</p>
