There was the episode where Darren refused Maurice’s magical birthday gift and was turned into a mule. And then in a later season when they were recycling scripts, they adapted the plot so that Maurice turned Darren into a dog

I guess they didn’t think anyone would notice the repeat story. But to be fair, they didn’t think the audience would notice a different Darren. Or Louise Tate. Or Mrs. Kravitz.
