Not a good day today. Vomited twice, so went to vet, but Monty’s vet off today. Saw vet that have seen for years, so I trust him. He is not optimistic. Gives me guidance to know when the bad turn will come and will be the time to put him down. Left in tears as it has finally sunk in that I am going to lose my buddy sooner than I should have. He mentioned triaditis, which thankfully I am familiar with thanks to you guys. Glad I took him in rather than wait for usual vet to come back, as he was able to get some shots to help him over this hump. Vet said once he starts vomiting, then it’s time for him to go. My poor buddy. We are spending lots of cuddle time together.
I am so sorry and sad for you. It’s so hard to know how much to do and when to let go. These beloved fur children are such a part of our lives.
So sorry, Montegut.
I’m so sorry, Montegut. I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a beloved member of the family.
I’m sorry. Your kitty is one of the lucky ones though - living a long life in a home with family he loves and who love him. Spend his next days the way it sounds you alway have - letting him know he’s a good cat who’s loved by you all.
I lost my best friend last year on July third to carcinomatosis. It was devastating. I’m so sorry you and your buddy are going through this. I’m hoping you get many happy days.
Monty did very well while boarding while we went up to visit son. Started eating on his own. Stain for cancer came back negative, but bloodwork still the same. Still syringe feeding, though less, to supplement, and continuing medication. He is his old self, very loving, and I am continuing to spoil him. Grateful to have him still and making every moment count.
Checking back in three months later. Monty had a good visit yesterday. His levels are finally coming down, and he is on little medicine. He is back to his normal weight. Being so good that he gets to sleep in bed with both of us now. I turned 55 a couple of weeks ago, and got the best present ever, to have him sitting there waiting for me to come home. So grateful to my wonderful vet and my even more wonderful husband for all their hard work to bring him back to health. Still needs follow-up in a month, but so grateful to still have him around.Vet says she’s never seen a cat have his levels and make a recovery. A very special cat.
I’ve no doubt that the love and devotion of his human(s) played a major part in Monty’s recovery. I’m so glad to hear this news, today was feeling pretty dark. Thanks for sharing, and wishing your feline pal continued improvement.
I was looking for a simple heart emoji but couldn’t find one. xoxo for Monty. <3
