Cats and vacation

If our cats don’t have enough company while we are gone one of them will pee on the couch!
We also have one on insulin now and she is impossible for anyone but us to give shots to. We’re lucky if she gets a shot every other day, but the vet said that is fine, or even going a week without wouldn’t be a disaster.
We have a large dog, so our pet sitter usually stays overnight. ($32 per 24 hours, which is a steal in my opinion)

Summer time lots of young adults are home from college and would jump at the chance to house sit. Maybe ask friends if any have a responsible 20 year old who would appreciate spending their evenings watching tv with a cat on their lap. Sometimes a week living away from home helps them with the chaffing that comes with transitioning from dorm life to life at home with mom and dad…

We have also had luck with young adults that are happy to give up their city apt for a week of suburbia.

I board mine at the vets when we go out of town.
