I’m trying to decide what to make for Easter dessert. I was thinking of a Paris-Brest, but now I’m thinking I might make a 2 or 3 level almond dacquoise instead…but what flavor(s) of buttercream to use?

That carrot cake recipe has way too little frosting for me. :slight_smile:

@Meddy – I heard Whole Foods has an amazing basic cake… will have to try it out when I’m baked out.

Hiya! Today for Easter I made the Pave D’amour wedding cake ooh-la-la :). Thanks @anomander … It was delicious! I did all the steps except I kept it as a two layer cake.

This is now my “go to” yellow/vanilla cake. OMG so yummy. Also, if you dont want to go through all the steps but want a really yummy basic cake, you could make the yellow base cake and add the chocolate ganache and chocolate souffle in the middle finished with the Italian Buttercream. (I think both chocolates add something).

I am really starting to live up to my “name” aye?
