<p>I know getting 55+ credit would get you junior standing (at least for tuition purpose), but I don’t see how would that be critical for the transfer. I know many sophomores just transferred into UMich. Also you need to find out whether your credit can be transferred. Having 55 credits does not mean you may transfer all those credits. Indeed, I think there is a cap on transferrable credits at 60 for LSA. Having 55+ credit would make you pay upperclassman tuition which may not necessary mean you may graduate within 2 years depending on your major and graduation requirement.</p>
