Chance a TX resident, 3.97 UW, NMF, 1560 SAT, top 8% for biology or neuroscience, premed

With tuition, housing, dining, textbooks and fees paid for, I think NMF actually end up getting paid $27K (over 4 yrs) to attend Tulsa.

Are those amounts affordable to you?

For the colleges that admitted you, were their net prices affordable?

An NPC should spit out an exact - but if it’s $30K a year with a $17K SAI? And don’t forget travel and other expense.

They are decently affordable for most schools. My parents did agree to contributing to pay for these fees.

If $30k is your net price limit, you can sort out the admissions into two categories:

  • Under $30k: safety.
  • Over $30k: out-of-reach due to being too expensive.

For the pending ones, any whose net price calculator shows over $30k should be moved to the reach category (because you need scholarship money), and those which are already reach for admission should be moved to a higher level of reach.

Remember that admission but too expensive is equivalent to rejection.

It seems that I did not mention this in the post, so apologies beforehand for forgetting to say this: I am also a Brown Scholar for Texas A&M.

hmmm - that seems pretty darn awesome for someone truly interested in pre med - perhaps more awesome than anything else on your list with an assured 10 week medical research internship. Oftentimes, these special programs offer so much enrichment and guidance that they’ll often trump being a regular student at a perceived superior name. That’s up to you of course - but this looks pretty darn special. Congrats.

Yes, it’s a wonderful opportunity, but I am still waiting, as I don’t want to commit to anything yet.

Gosh, no brainer in my opinion
