Chance At Marshalls

So, I’m wondering what my chances for Marshall are. I’m current a junior in high school.

My unweighted GPA is a a 3.85

My class rank is 9/118 (top 8%).

The school I go too is a part of the New Tech foundation. They emphasize a new type of approach where students are familiarized with an authentic work environment. Our work centers heavily around presentations, professionalism, becoming acquainted with the uses of technology in today’s world, and of course normal high school content. I took one ap class freshmen year and the rest honors. I took all honors classes sophmore year and now 3 aps and the rest honors junior year. When I graduate, I will also have 40+ hours of experience shadowing people in their jobs. This program was implemented to give us a visual view of the real world.

My SAT breaks down like this.
Superscore- 2250
Composite- 1560/1600
CR- 790
M- 770
CW- 690

For my extracurriculars, my big one is FIRST. It’s nationally sponsored robotics competition and I’m on the varsity team for it at my school.

By the time I graduate, I will also have 40+ credited hours to job shadowing professionals in their work environments. This is part of my schools program.

I’m in NHS.

I’m also a member of my schools Community Service Club, Debate Club, and International Action Club (this one is part of a national organization).

I took part in a volunteer project at Reagan Wells Ranch over the summer for the international human rights organization.

I worked for Baylor Hospital’s community service program.

I worked for Children’s Medical Center’s community service program.

So my ec’s basically list down too:
Haves:
FIRST
Debate Club
Reagan Wells Ranch Community Service
NHS
Job Shadowing Professionals In Their Work Environments (40+ Hours by graduation)
Interact Club
Community Service Club
Baylor Community Service
Children’s Hospital Community Service

i think you have a very good chance, should not be worried

well I think if you wanted to work at Marshall’s, you’d have to be at least 16, have a go-to attitude, warm personality, and at least a year of retail or customer service experience.

That actually made me laugh and thanks for the info Saitsuzen

bamp !!

I am not an expert on chance, but this is just my 2 cents…

In my opinion, you have a solid chance. If USC is your top choice next year, you should continue to keep up your grades through junior and senior years in HS and if possible, make a visit to this great school. Sitting in the class, having a chat with current Marshall students and professors and studying in the wonderful USC library etc. This will help you learn more about USC and hopefully make your decision.

We just visited USC last week and learnt a great deal about this great school and feel in love with it. Good luck to you!
