Chance at NYU arts and science

NYU: Match

well, asians make up an OVERWHELMING majority in Korea. I think like 99%

That’s true… since there are some foreign students studying at international schools in Korea… but still when someone says he or she’s from Korea, it very probable and people usually assume that that person is Korean in ethnicity. I mean, asian countries are not like US or Canada…

more than 99% since that would mean the 1% of the population would be non-Korean in ethnicity… THAT is 1% of 48million people. I don’t think 480000 non-asians are living in Korea excluding the US soldiers stationed in Korea.

any immigrant from korea is a korean citizen, and therefore I would say it’s safe to say the person is korean.

You know your stats are almost identical to mine. I want to major in IR also and I’ve worked since I as 14 consistently. I’ve transferred HS 3 times over the course of 4 years. Um…my sat scores are just 60 pts higher than yours. 700/650/610. My GPA is about the same. I’ve done activities almost exactly like yours. I’m also Korean but im female. u sending ur toefl scores?

h20nline, yea we almost do have identical stats, where are you applying?

btw, My satIIs were:
Korean listenling: 800
Chem: 630
MAth IIc: 650
I took both chem and math without taking ap courses so I panicked…

If you are applying to NYU I hope we both get in

I really should have taken the Korean Listening cause my other satii scores suck major @$$. Lit (550) and Math IC (620). It’s so depressing. You have a better chance than me at NYU. That much I can tell you. I’m applying to NYU and yes, I hope you get in also. I’d like to have a Korean brother attending w/ me, ya noe?

By the way, you’re not an international student are you? I have dual citizenship, but I lived in Korea 2/3s of my life.

nah, I’m permanent resident I came here when I was 11, I am eligible for citizenship, just have to take the test…

are you moe comfortable speaking in korean or eng?

English…

For me it’s about the same. I used to dream just in korean. Now i’m hearing both.

i think your stats are too high for nyu’s heop. They say you qualify if your sat ranges from 1000-1250 and that your gpa is above 3.0( which you have). Anyways good luck bro
