<p>Hopefully you can raise your SAT score, especially the math, and good luck with the ACT. The schools look at your best score from each category on the SAT, so taking it multiple times is a plus. Have you gotten tutored at all? A math tutor might be a good investment.</p>
<p>I happen to love SUNY New Paltz. We were just there last weekend for a craft fair. It is such a cool place. My son is transferring there next semester. He is in school in Florida now. He was originally accepted there out of HS but ended up elsewhere. I think he is sorry he didn’t choose to attend. They have a great orientation for freshman and such a strong community feeling. It has gotten much more competitive to get in at NP and they had their largest freshman class ever this year. I think the Newsweek pick of best small state school really put them on the map. </p>
<p>He has friends at both Geneseo and Bing. They seem happy but those schools are much more rural and he didn’t think they were for him.</p>
