Do the online recruiting questionnaires for the Ivies, Patriot and NESCAC. I suspect more than one golf coach will be interested. If that happens you have no idea how this process changes for you. Your application will be handled at many schools by the athletic liason in admissions.
Division 1 can vary dramatically, so its impossible to say your scores are not competitive. Colgate is Division 1 but was not competitive with many Division 3 schools in certain sports.
This is the perfect time of the year to start this process.

Fuzzyorange,
What researchhave you done to establish just how competitive Colgate is in golf? I assume you have contacted the coach and know of recent Patriot League conference results?
Good luck with your college search!
I have read about their college programme and I have a second cousin who studies there and plays collegiate golf
So what’s your next step in the process? What’s your experience with Patriot and/or Colgate golf coaches? Of course you will have to work through NCAA D1 parameters and those unique to each school - Colgate in particular is extremely competitive admissions-wise - but with proper legwork you will learn how far golf and your credentials will take you at these institutions.
Again, best of luck!
@fuzzyorange You need to get an NCAA clearing house number. You should also ask the coach for a “pre-read” of your transcript if indeed you are recruitable. Hopefully you will get invited for an “official visit”.
@BatesParents2019 @markham Thank you guys!

Those are some stellar EC’s! They definitely show your passion for medicine and public health. I would try to capitalize on those in your applications, as your standardized test scores are a bit low for some of the schools on your list. I’d say that Stanford, Columbia, U Penn, JHU, and Dartmouth are pretty big reaches unfortunately, but you’d definitely have a decent shot at the latter three if you get those standardized test scores up to at least a 2240+ on SAT and a 34+ on the ACT. Sorry, but being an international applicant is going to work against you. It gets so much more competitive. UNC and UM Ann Arbor have pretty low international acceptance rates so those might be reaches as well. I’d say that the rest are all match/low reach, with NYU, Brandeis, and Emory being your definite matches. Definitely try getting those test scores up a bit and you’ll greatly improve your chances. Good luck!
@JPhilly99
Thanks!
I am aware that an international application is disadvantaged but how and to what extent?
It does hurt quite a bit. Getting into a college for us internationals is 10x harder than it is for the US citizens. After all, why would they prefer aliens over citizens for education in their own country?
