Hmmm…I thought XC was cross country.
But I am also confused.
XC is cross country. XC runners can potentially be recruited for certain track events, but maybe OP is recruited for XC. Anyway, hope OP answers some of these posts.

I wondered that when I re-read the initial post (which had at first not mentioned specific colleges for recruitment)… perhaps the topic of the essay was supposed to have drawn comment too. As was maybe the lack of middle ground between CUNYs and Ivies.
Anyway bottom line someone privileged enough to belong to a big donor family, if real, can certainly end up somewhere decent if their family pays enough.
OP is welcome to contact the moderators to reopen if the thread if they care to explain how a committed athletic recruit still needs to be chanced/matched.
