…uhhh… back to the OP

If you want to go to Brown, apply ED. But if you don’t want to go there, don’t apply ED, because it’s very likely you’ll be stuck come December.

If you want to go to Brown, apply ED. But if you don’t want to go there, don’t apply ED, because it’s very likely you’ll be stuck come December.

Applying ED, using your own definition, I’d actually say OP is a match. I agree that no one can assure anybody of a Brown acceptance.

legacy my boy will take you a long way…!!

Good stats + ed + legacy = great chance of being admitted anywhere

Does legacy really make that huge a difference?

I wish my parents studied at Brown :(

tetrisfan: Legacy is a boost. It definitely helps. But it does NOT turn Brown into a match or safety for ANYONE.

I’ll repeat and elaborate on what I said here before: Being a legacy and applying ED is NOT a guaranteed admission. I know double legacy applicants with excellent records who did not get in ED. I know legacies whose parents volunteered a lot for Brown and gave large donations every year who were rejected. Overall, 65% of legacy applicants do NOT get accepted into Brown. Anyone who thinks that a 35% acceptance rate is a sure thing is not accepting reality.

But yes, 35% is significantly higher than the 10 percent overall acceptance rate.

What was the overall ED acceptance rate for the class of 2013?

Hmmm…you remind me of myself
Good EC’s, glad to see a fellow photographer/soccer player/summer intern
You know if I didn’t know better, I would have thought that you were me.
Although unlike me, you do have legacy, that helps a bit.
I would say ED you’re in. RD might be a bit of a long shot

Chance me back?

Great stats. Thank mommy for being so smart, haha. You should get in early decision. Good luck!

Chance back?

“This depends on what match means.”

How about:

Reach < 5% chance
Match 50/50 chance
Safety > 95% chance

Then add high or low to show gradations. Just an idea. :)
