BS/MD programs are notoriously competitive, and it’s completely normal to feel a bit anxious waiting for feedback on your stats. If you’re looking for a bit of advice from those who have been through the process:
-
Don’t rely solely on numbers: While strong stats are a baseline, admissions officers are ultimately looking for maturity, clinical experience, and a genuine “why medicine” story that shines through in your essays.
-
Focus on the narrative: Make sure your extracurriculars tell a consistent story about your commitment to service and healthcare.
It is incredibly easy to burn out while polishing these applications. Whenever the stress of checking status updates or obsessing over admission odds gets to me, I usually step away to do the letter boxed daily challenge. It’s a great way to force your brain to switch gears and recharge for a few minutes.
Good luck with your application journey—stay focused and try to take care of yourself during this process!
