My daughter had zero AP classes and 3.5 GPA and 30 ACT. She also had an illness and graduated a semester later. She wrote her passion for her major and school first and a small paragraph of the family issue that caused her not to take any honor or AP classes. She got in. Most kids she meets have high GPAs and ACTs, but she has met some in the education department with 24s and 26s. Essay’s count. I even called admissions so worried about her past and they were so nice. Your ACT proves you have it just sometimes people react to stress differently as did my daughter who needed an extra semester. Good luck!!
