Of course, the student should apply and see what happens.
Perhaps. However, I do have some context for this. Both my husband and I are PhD’s and have a pretty good idea of what it takes to do research in something like organic chemistry. Looking at the OP’s course load, junior year does not have a strong STEM component - student took AP Stats even though they had AP Calc AB is sophomore year. They should have been able to take AP Chem junior year - especially if they are doing research in chem (unless the school has some wacky prerequisite sequence) . Maybe the OP can clarify.
The list of EC’s tells me that the student has access to university level research and top execs ,but no mention of any ISEF style competition or any other independent verification. As a fellow Indian American, I am really starting to wonder about the preponderance of these types of EC’s . I have family in Silicon Valley who are top execs at tech firms, and so I am pretty familiar with what’s accessible.
