Chance Me @ Cornell, NYU, Yale, etc.

I totally disagree. with decent scores and a GPA like that and lukewarm ECs/essays, I would say

Yale - it’s such a reach you can’t even reach it
Cornell - low reach
NYU - target/safety

I agree with Antiflamer and also talked about this a few posts above.
Yale is always almost impossible.
Cornell is still a reach, for most any applicant, regardless of scores GPA and ecs, unless they have significant alum contributing legacy, which then gets most anyone with decent stats close to being a match.
NYU, getting harder and harder, I don’t think it is a safety for many

…

Thanks guys, I just applied to Yale, cause if you dont apply then you will never know, if you could have made it or not and I dont want that thought. Cornell I think my HS is good with it, on average we send like 5 kids to Cornell, but I know Im doing regular and always a chance. Hopefully I can make it.

don’t worry apart from ECs my stats aren’t as great as yours are, and I got into Cornell. But I applied ED - I suppose that makes a huge difference. Don’t worry though; it’s certainly a school you should apply to with those stats!

If you were black, hispanic (is your username inspired by that? bajo = down in spanish), or native american then you have a very good chance.
Else, reach – by applying to a healthy number of schools though, you give yourself the chance to get into at least 1-2 great schools. The most important thing is that you spent the effort in your apps, which you surely did.
Hooks: first generation (could help a lot or a little), low income(?), high class rank
they can substantially help you. depends on the fickleness of the board.
Edit: never mind about minority, reread your post. I think Afghanistan qualifies under white (somehow). At least it’s not considered asian!

you have a very good chance, that is just my personal opinion

Look at my post above, I think it is accurate,

You may just get in
