I concur; I have explicitly asked about that at interviews, and was told that scores would be considered in context.
If someone has low scores (90th percentile is not low) and is applying from an elite private school where students have access to test prep, that is a red flag.
If someone has high scores but lousy grades, that raises some questions.
An applicant’s transcript and teachers recs tell the AOs a lot more.
