Chance me for Babson class of 2030 [88.6 GPA, 1410 SAT]

Goes to show you what we know. Congrats.

You said you could be full pay. I noted early that Brandeis has issues and needs money. Have they given you any aid ?

You’ve done fantastic. Congrats to you.

Very encouraging for Babson! :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

Did you submit the 1410 to Babson?

Your early results are awesome! Babson EA is just a bit more difficult than the ones you have been accepted to IMO. If you pull a Northeastern or Tulane EA, that would be the closest comparison. I really hope you get in!

Tulane EA decisions came out last week. Since he didn’t put a decision next to that one, I’m guessing he applied RD - which historically has low single digit acceptance %. And unless he’s shown substantial demonstrated interest I might suggest that acceptance rate is close to zero.

22k yearly

In all fairness, I applied to Tulane because it was free, and one more never hurt anyone, right?:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I did end up submitting. Percentile wise, my total gpa is a lot lower than my SAT, and I figured it would demonstrate adequate competence for the school

Got deffered from Binghamton guys :upside_down_face:

Not one of my top schools per se but a good school nonetheless. Heard a lot of people are getting deferred due to the amount of applications the school is receiving and how they don’t have enough time to fairly consider all of them (mega cope), but at least its not a rejection

@tsbna44 tuition still came out to be like 80+ thousand dollars a year though…

Good admits - Brandeis and Case.. You are right on Bing. Deferred is not rejected

So Brandeis not affordable or at least not what you are hoping.

Hopefully you applied to enough low cost safeties if money an issue. You sort of said it wasn’t but it was. With your stats, there are fine b schools under $30k but your list (that you showed) isn’t built for lower cost shot of UH.

You only need one so no matter what other acceptances will go away so it’s ok to detach if they cost too much.

But - if Brandeis at $22K off is too much - direct costs (tuition, fees, room and board this year) are $91,486 - so it’s more like - $70K-ish, not $80Kish - although there is inflation).

But if that’s too much for you and it’s ok if your family has now come to the realization that it is, you may need other schools - although you’re going to get into UH. What we don’t know is if you’ll get into the entrepreneurship program. Given their high ranking in most studies, it’s obviously become popular and they are now pre-selecting. They’ll have the minor open to all.

Case is a great admit - they do give merit, sometimes a lot. Did they not give it with the admittance?

IU, UT, and UMD are going to all be high 50s+. Now that you’ve reassessed budget, will they work, should you get in which is not a given for any of the three? (you’ll get into IU, Kelley is the unknown).

I know you expanded your list - Clark and Trinity. Are either affordable? Looks like both have minors in Entrepreneurship.

If you get stuck and want another admit, throw in an app to East Carolina. It appears to be a solid program, showing up in US News (who only lists 35) and Princeton Review’s top 50. It’s $35K full pay - merit opportunities exist but you need to do the scholarship app by Jan 15 and they say to apply by Dec 15 for best odds. - so assume full pay. . Other than the $75, it’s likely a very simple application.

Not saying you need it - but if you find yourself having gone from full pay to Brandeis is too much - and knowing what the others cost, you might want to at least keep open the opportunity to pivot as a just in case.

It’s a nice school in a nice area of the country.

But hopefully you can work with some that you applied to - but just in case you’re finding you can’t.

I’m sure there are other alternatives too, if needed or desired.

I would have submitted, I think, as well.

Binghamton has become a very tough admit, depending on which school/major you’re applying to. A deferral is certainly good news.

case gave me 40.5k, trinity gave me around 30k i think, and clark gave me 38k (all yearly)

Business, so yeah, content with the deferral

That’s awesome - so do those put you in range of where you want to be? Trinity is a great school - I think the student base is mostly Texas although they draw from all over.

Clark is having financial issues - make sure the offerings still work.

But do these - now under $50K or $50Kish work for you or still too much?

Babson (the point of your post) will be more if you get in.

The price is something i’ll have to go over with my parents. They make a good amount of money, the problem is that they have three kids and at some point, all three are gonna be in college at the same time, so im just worried for them.

oldest - freshman in college

middle (me)

youngest - sophomore in high school

Babson comes out tomorrow :folded_hands: :folded_hands: :folded_hands: :folded_hands: :folded_hands: :folded_hands: :folded_hands:

It ls too late now but it’s why it’s so critical up front to have your budget known - that’s not for you but maybe future applicants browsing the thread. Sometimes parents make a lot and can afford but simply don’t want to afford.

The good news is if you find none of these work, there’s still time to find solid, less expensive options, given your stats.

Good luck tomorrow.
