Chance me for California schools!

You don’t indicate what kind of school you’re interested in, apart from the budget. As you’ve listed California publics which are all large institutions, I don’t know if your preference is for large schools or that’s just what is offered with Cali publics. Thus, the schools here may not be at all the right fit for you. But all of these private schools have a relatively higher percentage of students getting their degrees in math fields as compared to other similar institutions (as per College Navigator, put together by the federal government). Also, a number of these schools are members of the Colleges That Change Lives association and have been indicated with a CTCL.

Some private schools you may want to look into include:

  • Austin (TX) – CTCL
  • Birmingham-Southern (AL) – CTCL and had a tuition reset a couple of years ago
  • Centre (KY) – CTCL
  • Florida Institute of Technology
  • Gonzaga (WA)
  • Hendrix (AR) – CTCL and offers a flagship match scholarship
  • Millsaps (MS) – CTCL
  • Pacific Lutheran (WA)
  • Seattle (WA)
  • Trinity (TX)
  • U. of Tulsa (OK)
  • Whittier (CA)
  • Wofford (SC)

Some publics you may want to look into (most of which are WUE schools) include:

  • U. of Arizona
  • Colorado School of Mines
  • U. of Nevada – Reno
  • New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology
  • Oregon State
  • U. of Utah
  • Western Colorado
  • Western Washington
