@shaash Also people from my school have gotten into UPenn (my brother), MIT, CMU, Cornell (5 this year!), Harvard, and Stanford. Not sure about the other top schools because I haven’t heard of people getting in. I’m sure they have in the past though.
With your scores and extracurriculars, I think you’ll definitely get into several of the schools you mentioned. Stanford is the only one that’s a stretch but it’s insanely hard to get into computer science at Stanford.
True. Thanks for your input!
@wanderlust9871 the above comment was to you
Oh you’re fine then I expect you to get into more than one of these schools!
You look fine for most of the schools. I agree that a better ACT score will add value to your portfolio. I would also recommend taking the SAT is September if you think you are ready. I know there is a lot of dispute out there, but I strongly believe that elite school prefers SAT over ACT… that’s just my belief.
I PMed a few suggestions to you hope that helps
@Wisdom2share Thanks for your input! If my subject SAT scores end up being ok then I’m definitely taking the SAT in September. We’ll see
Instead of chancing me back could you give me some advice?
I also like computer science and am a rising sophomore. How did you get the internship and those other accomplishments? I don’t have many connections and don’t know where to start.
Many of the competitions I did were found online so you can do them from anywhere. For internships, I suggest doing everything you can to improve you cs background like taking classes online and doing projects. Don’t be afraid to apply to internships that aren’t specificly for high schoolers. If you want more Adobe or details, don’t be afraid to pm me
Wow! Your EC’s are really good! So is your rank. Like the above poster mentioned, UMich and Cornell are pretty likely. Stanford and the rest are VERY selective, and it is to a certain extent, luck. But I wouldn’t be surprised if you got in. Good Luck!
Thank you so much! I feel like the only thing holding me back a lot are my standardized tests. My scores aren’t horrible by any means, but they’re not the best when trying to get into these selective schools.
Any more opinions?
One more try and I’ll let it die haha
I would definitely apply to UIUC.
I will for sure. I just figured I’d post my reaches.
@java23 sorry I keep forgetting the @ thing
Also forgot to mention my PSAT scores was only a 1400 I don’t know if that matters though
All I can say is that you have as great a chance at those schools as anyone else! You have clearly taken advantage of your many opportunities! Those ECs are formidable.
@meepmoop thanks so much!
