Chance me for GA tech? Will chance back if you would like an unreliable opinion :)

@BerserkLemur - I’ve seen people use your instead of you’re, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone use you’re instead of your.

@magnezin - Your GPA is not bad, it’s actually pretty solid, so I wouldn’t be overly worried. The GPA you see online for GT is weighted (but they’ve discontinued that). Just make sure you apply early action, and keep your grades absolutely top notch during the first semester. Remember, GTech likes Science and Math, so don’t forfeit your Physics B, Bio, and Calc grades for Guitar or Religions.

Your ACT looks really good, especially since you did amazingly well on Math and Science. GTech doesn’t require Subject Tests, so only submit those that are truly spectacular, so far which would be Math II. GTech doesn’t give credit for any subject tests beside Chem and English, so I don’t think your history one will count for much, nor your Bio (Bio simply because it’s not that high). Try to get at least a 730 on chem, which will put you in the category to get credit for Chem 1310, since you didn’t take AP Chem. GTech likes it when students come in with credit, it allows them to graduate faster, and get rid of the false notion that it takes 15 years to graduate from GT.

Your ECs are great, and your essay topic sounds fantastic. It’s not a hook, a hook is if you’re URM, athlete, or legacy. But it’s definitely different and not expected for someone with your demographics. Definitely talk about it, write your essay way in advance to make sure you have plenty of time to revise it, and best of luck.
