You may want to add Ohio State. T25 engineering school and offer good amount of merit to OOS students. S24 got $14.5K merit/year with a lower WGPA and SAT than yours.
CA schools are test blind, your high SAT won’t help admission or merit there. UCB, UCI and Cal Poly SLO are all reaches. Good Luck.
The schools on your list differ greatly in character - public and private, large and small, urban and rural, etc. What is the profile of your ideal school? How many of the schools on your list have you visited? You have quite a few schools on your list and might consider dropping a few and adding another after giving some thought to your dream school.
Some thoughts on specific schools…
CWRU: With your strong record, the AO at Case may think you are using them as a safety and defer you. If you are truly interested, show it with campus visits, zoom info sessions, etc. If accepted, they would likely throw a strong merit package your way. Yes, it’s in Cleveland, but it is in a nice part of town.
UofM: Don’t take Michigan for granted. My son attended one of the top in-state feeder schools and the students with records similar to yours were deferred. Based on who UofM did accept, the AOs are definitely giving preferential treatment to historically under represented demographic groups. If you are really interested, write a fan letter in the “Why University of Michigan” essay. Their engineering school is on a separate campus that is a 15 minute shuttle ride away from the main campus where you will take your math and science classes.
Purdue: I would be amazed if you did not get accepted by Purdue. Note that freshman are accepted into a general engineering program, then they apply for specific majors at the end of freshman year. If your grades are not strong, you may not get into competitive majors like AeroE or MechE. We live outside Detroit and know managers who would rather hire engineers from Purdue than UofM.
