It’s a high reach for any of the top LAC’s: Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, etc. Whitman, Lafayette, and U of Richmond would be high matches. Washington (not Washingtonian) and Lee, Colby, and Colgate would be low reach.
Apply ED where you want to go, not where you think it gives you the best chance.
My tips: Work on improving your SAT score, or take the ACT a couple of times. Also, know that with lackluster EC’s it will be harder to amaze them with your application, so work on writing a solid essay. Finally, contact the coaches at the schools you are really interested in (and know how to spell!). Who knows, maybe you’ll get recruited.
Don’t worry too much about financial aid – it will all work out in the end. FA doesn’t become a serious issue until you actually get your aid packages back.
