You are very similar to my daughter from last year, @zachbaseball32 . She is Hispanic and Jewish, 3.7UW/4.2 W GPA. 33 ACT. National Hispanic Recognition Program. 4 years JV and Varsity Lacrosse starter on a championship team. Undecided major except at SLO (business). 7 APs (Calc A/B, Env Sci, APUSH, Euro Hist, Stats, Govt, Comp Sci Prin). Top rated HS in California.
She was accepted at SLO, SDSU (Honors), waitlisted and later admitted to UCSB and UCSD. Rejected at UCB and UCLA. Also accepted at Michigan and Wisconsin. She was only interested really in UCSB.
Based on this, and with no ACT/SAT, I would bet you would be similar. You have a higher UW GPA, but no supporting ACT/SAT and hers were high. She has more APs than you.
I’m guessing accepted at SLO and UCSB, but likely not accepted to Berkeley or UCLA. Your URM status means nothing at these schools or any public in CA, nor does your legacy status at UCSB. But perhaps you have great essays? Did you calculate your MCA at SLO, or do they still have this?
She is now attending ASU Barrett on a full tuition ride scholarship for NHRP. ASU has a very good business school with high rankings in Supply Chain, Management, and Marketing. She is having a good time even during COVID.
Have you looked at this option? Barrett really caters to NHRP kids and rolled out the red carpet for us. Lots of National Merit scholars there. It comes out to about $20-$22K/year all in. About $60K cheaper than UCSB over 4 years.
It’s not too late to apply to Barrett for late consideration. Either way, you get the scholarship. But you will likely be accepted with your NHRP status.
