The UC’s look at 3 UC GPA’s: Unweighted, Capped Weighted and Fully Weighted.
Only 10-11th grades for the a-g courses are used for the UC GPA calculation. You get 1 extra Honors point for any UC approved Honors, AP, IB or DE course taken 10-11th grades.
UC approved Honors courses are only for in-state CA HS students. OOS Honors courses do not get the extra weighting.
Capped weighted= Maximum 8 semesters of Honors points
Fully weighted= Unlimited semesters of Honors points
If you are on a Yearly, Trimester or Quarterly schedule then the # of Honors points will be different.

I like the RogerHub UC GPA calculator which does ask what grading system is present at your HS.
