No, people like blueraptor will just influence people not to apply to the competitive schools so he can have a better chance of getting in.
And also, our high school is very isolated from the good colleges, such as UPenn or Swarthmore, which are both about 30-45 minutes away. Also, our school doesn’t offer dual enrollment programs in mathematics, so BC is the highest level of math you can achieve in our school.
What I mean is that colleges will see that BC is the highest level in our school, and if she doesn’t seek anything more, then that’s fine (obviously, seeking higher level math courses is good, but not required for competitiveness). Colleges will recognize that not many people take BC as a junior in our school (and our counselor will say that in his letter of recommendation) and therefore she may not be as “normal” as the rest of the applicants who take BC as a junior.</p>
