We were at Purdue Women in Engineering program monday of this week and loved it. They got 83,000 applications this year (24,000 for engineering program alone). Going up every year.
Essentially getting paid to go to school there. Hard not to look into it.
With a great dorm room in Ridgecrest - a solo and shared bath with one other.
Lots of great schools and likely similar jobs from all -
It likely comes to fit and affordability.
Good luck.
This page appears not to have been updated in years, and many of the large automatic merit scholarships listed are no longer offered, or have been changed (usually in the direction of being more difficult to get or offering less money).
Some good advice above. With your stats and likely NMF status you should have a few good options without debt. I would be reluctant to go into debt for an undergrad degree. Especially for engineering. All these schools are ABET certified and will provide a quality education.
A few of these schools offer very competitive full-ride scholarships. GT has Stamps and NC State has Parks. Pitt has the Chancellorās scholarship. Very competitive but I think you would be in the mix.
Iām assuming UK is your safety school?
Have you looked at a school like Rice? Expensive but they keep lowering the threshold for financial aid. Maybe run the NPC?
GT is a tough get out of state but I like your chances. Itās possible to graduate in 3 years if you carry enough AP/DE credits. Consider that when youāre comparing admission offers. That said, you donāt go there for the accommodations. Dorms and food are not great. Most people move off campus after freshman year.
Iāll put a plug in for FSU. Nice place to spend 4 years. I think they have a nice automatic scholarship offer for NMF students. They also have some type of particle accelerator.
