"* Strengths: Heavy involvement in community, excellent writer (and hence, excellent essays)

 • Weaknesses: Low scores, unimpressive course load, low GPA"

You basically said it yourself…the scores, course load, and GPA are what matter. Your extra curriculars and writing skills matter too, but not nearly as much (not matter how great you make them sound, unfortunately).

That being said, I do think you have a shot. Your math score is low but the others are okay, and your GPA is fine. Don’t lose hope. If I had to guess, I would say that you’ll probably be LSP’d–and LSP is great, so don’t think that’s a bad thing in any way.

Good luck!

If you are referring to the OP, WarPaint, she noted in Post #6 that she was accepted into NYU LSP.

I just got my most recent SAT score back and I bumped it up to 2130 (up to 660 in math - hoping this will increase later)

Do you think this will improve my chances? My only hope now is improving my SAT and acing my SAT IIs / AP tests / ACT :)
