I think you have a pretty good chance. I had the exact same ACT score as you (except mine was more rounded rather than higher in some areas and lower in some) and I had an identical GPA and I got accepted for Class of 2012.

do any of u guys know anyone that got accepted into ucla with a C or even a D? If so, what class did they get it in and what are ur stats?

C’s during their senior year when it was negligible. C’s in their freshman year for another person - however, he got Straight A’s after, took about 8-10+ APs on top of doing CC classes at night… and being stellar in MUN.

Academic gpa

UC weighted: 4.57
UC unweighted: 3.86
UC High School (8 semester cap one): 4.14
Rank: within top 10% out of about 700 students. No idea where I am at though, will know once school starts.
ELC qualifed – I am pretty sure since I have the 3rd highest UC weighted gpa in school.

Extracurriculars

Popping/Hip hop dance for 4 years. Performed at kollaboration 2007. (pretty good at this, I dedicate a lot of my time to dancing)

Work at my dad’s computer shop. (My dad operates the shop by himself so I have to help out. ~20 hours a week for about two years now)

Peer tutor in school (I use my lunch time to tutor kids in math/science)

Mu Alpha Theta president (national math club organization, will hold my position)

Korean Club VP (will hold my position)

Teaching and helping “mentally” disabled kids at a local elementary school. (I can do this only during summer/winter/spring breaks since those are the only times where my school time doesn’t coincide with the elementary school times)

Tennis (private lessons but not competitive and not that good either) - 3 years

Piano (pretty good) - passed level 9 CM test

I am involved in various other environmental activities (like beach clean ups, planting tress, etc.)

Misc

I will most likely have enough college credits by the time I enroll in college to have a junior status
My community classes will let me skip 7 of the 10 required GEs at UCLA.
My UC capped gpa is relatively low just because I took too many classes. I even had to limit myself from taking more classes because I figured my gpa was going down even if I take APs and honors classes and get A’s in them.
First generation to go to college
Prospective Math/econ major

I know my SAT is rather low at the moment, but I don’t want to have to take it again if I don’t need to. I think my grades, SAT IIs, course load, and extracurriculars are good enough… should I retake it?

Match.

Don’t go here OOS. It’s a foolish decision - you could probably get into Duke or a similarly ranked private school that costs about the same or less with an overall better environment and more attention focused on the individual… when you consider the allotment of resources and also number of students relative to cost.

In terms of extracurriculars, I have been playing football for 4 years, with 2 years on varsity. Our varsity team had the highest average GPA in our section and I won the Most Academic Award (for highest GPA) on that team in 2007. I am also a sectional scholar athlete and have earned my academic letter. I also played Freshman Basketball.

I have 250-275 hours of community service. I volunteer weekly at my local hospital and have amassed over 160 hours there. This past summer I have been helping register voters and other volunteer work for Barack Obama’s campaign(~50 hours, really enjoy it). I also do other random volunteer work with the football team and with some clubs at school.

In addition, I was a baseball umpire for a youth league for 2 years. I was also a private tutor for two years, tutoring elementary/middle school kids in math. I was also a videographer for the local youth football league(for 3 years), and taped every film of every squad’s game. I also was an assistant coach for one of the squads of that organization for a year.

Also, I was in a summer program for gifted high school students at UC Berkeley for four years. There I took challenging courses that I got credit for.
In school, other than football, I am a member of the MUN club and the Spanish club. I have been in the California Scholarship Foundation for 7 semesters and have won numerous school and MUN awards. I plan on starting a couple of poltical-based clubs next year, including a club for young Democrats that would like to get involved in Obama’s campaign(will be able to get support from local Democratic groups).
