honestly, you shouldn’t worry if you don’t get in. i know a girl was #1 in her class and everything amazing, but the girl that was #2 in class got in because her sister went to stanford. and they have only so much room to acept and even if they love your application they might reject you just because. this grl got into columbia but not into stanford, and now she is extremel happy wih where she is. it’s about your personality fit as well=] i also want to get into stanford its my #1 choice. but i have an additude f whatever happens. happens. if we get rejected at least its with the rest 93%

stanford actually wants to dumb down their admissions
theyre taking people who list “habitual marijuana usage” over “captain of every varsity sport/dying father”

true story.

Hey Stanfordluver, sorry for not getting back sooner…

No I thought your scores were great. I had no intention at all of making them appear “not good enough.” They’re great, I think they actually line up with the university’s average, but don’t hold me to that… just something off the top of my head.

My point in that post was just to help you look at the admissions process from a different perspective… These scores alone, regardless of how wonderful they are, will not make you a shoe-in. They get THOUSANDS of applications from intelligent people like yourself with awesome (often perfect) standardized test scores. Thus, don’t count on those scores. They will definitely help, however what will be more important will be demonstrating to the admissions committee that you are more than just a score: you are a compassionate human being whose dreams stretch far beyond your backyard and that you truly want to make a difference in the world.

Not to sound like Miss America or anything, but seriously… that’s just my two cents!

And I meant to include in my last post…

Good luck Stanfordluver and to all of you who have applied this year…

I’ll cross my fingers for you ;)

curious… does anyone know if this person got in or not?

welllllll i got rejected.
from here, from duke, from HYP, from MIT and from penn.
OBVIOUSLY, i’m not top college material. but oh well. high school was TOTALLY worth it…NOT. i regret the last four years of my life completely…
but good luck to all the rest of the people applying/on the waitlist!
